About the Project
As the editor puts it in the introduction: ‘this is the first attempt to systematise the knowledge about genre writers in Poland’. It contains 254 biographical notes on Polish detective story writers. Our job was to design, typeset and print, within a fairly narrow time window, the hardcover book. We decided for a simple graphic cover inspired by the coroner’s corpse outline on the crime scene as (at least one) dead body undoubtedly unites all detective story writers, who sooner or later use a pen to kill someone in their books.
The publication came out as the 16th volume of EMG Publishing House’s Polish Crime Book Collection, which is also part of a book series by the European Capital of Culture Wroclaw 2016. It was premiered at the International Crime Writing Festival (in May 2017).
